From time to time you may need to know what version of OSX you are running. You might need this information when trying to run new software that only works with a specific version of OSX. The following tutorial illustrates how to find the system version.
- In the upper left hand corner of your screen click the blue Apple menu with your mouse
- Click the menu option “About this Mac”
This will display information about your OSX configuration, including the operating system version.
Clicking on the version in the dialog box will cycle through additional information.
Also, if you click on More Info you will open the System Profiler application which give more detailed information about your OSX configuration.
